Sunday Summary

My first actual Sunday Summary of May! I can say I’ve been reading a lot, but not as much as I have been with other weeks. I’ve also been going to the cinema way too often this month, about three times in the space of the week. And I’ll only be going again next week, Pitch Perfect 2 is coming out, how could I not? I’ve also been attempting to catch up on blogging, but I’m not completely convinced I’ve succeeded with that one. I don’t think it helps that I’ve been watching too much TV at the same time, and the frequent cinema trips really cut down on blogging time, but I’ve been trying.

A bit of a life update for you all, though, I can happily say that my working hours have improved! I have been working 9 until 6 for the past 18 months and it has been kicking my ass. I work 40 hours a week and I had an unnecessary hour for lunch and so my days have been long. I always ended up in commuter traffic there and back so it took an hour either side of my day. That means from 8 til 7 I was out of the house, too many hours for my liking. Me and a few of my colleagues applied to change our hours a couple of weeks back because we could not handle it much longer and it was approved! I still work 40 hours a week, and some days I’m still stuck in traffic getting home, but I work 8:30 til 5 now and have a half hour lunch break, and I can honestly say it makes all the difference finishing at 5. I get home some days and I realise I have so much time that I’m not sure what to do with myself. It is the nicest feeling knowing you have more time in your day, and I know that feeling will wear off eventually, but for now I treasure it.

As You can see, a lot of reading has been done since the beginning of the month, and I’m worried that I may lose the reading bug. Until that happens, I’m going to embrace the reading and see where it takes me. Also, I need to stop buying books, I don’t think my bank account is thanking me for all this spending.
